Hey friends! It’s been a couple months since I last posted on the blog. There’s been A TON going on, and I’m shifting gears to post on the blog a little less frequently. If you’ve not been following along on Facebook, I wanted to share some various things that have gone on in the last couple months!
In April, we travelled to Davenport, Iowa for. a convention. It was our first time in the state for a convention. The weather wasn’t great, and we got stuck in a corner, which made for a rough weekend in the sales department. However, we did add one very memorable table visitor when one of the stars of The Mighty Ducks stopped by to say hello. Shaun Weiss, who played the goalie “Goldberg” in the film, hung out with us for a bit talking about The Ducks, Super Penguin and life.

The rest of April was focused on writing. I’ve been hung up on a few scenes in the later portion of the book, so the pace was slow but I’m happy with what I eventually got on paper.
In early May, we attended Indiana Comic Con, it’s one of the largest conventions on our tour, and a convention I have never missed as a fan. Overall, we did pretty well at this convention. We even had some friends from our hometown of Danville, Illinois visit us!
In addition to more writing, we’ve added one more thing to the merch table in the form of Super Penguin Presidential buttons. I thought they came out great, and will be a great addition to the stuffies and books for Super Penguin Super Fans! They are now available in the online store!

But my FAVORITE part of May was Career Day. I went to two this month at South View Upper Elementary, and Southwest Elementary, speaking about being an author. The kids ranged from sixth graders to kindergarteners. They had great questions and I had a lot of fun hanging out with them! Afterwards, I swung by my sister’s classroom to talk to all her students that weren’t able to stop by my table. I read them the first bit of the book and answered some more questions.

We kick off June in a couple days, and it’ll be a very busy month! We’ve got THREE events in June, and my self-imposed deadline to have SP2 completed. Come see us at Covington Street Festival, Superman Celebration and the Danville Summer Vendor Fair!
